Capacity Building & Training

Capacity Building  and Training

PVTC recognizes that a key step in our I.D.E.A. efforts is to ensure that every member of our team has the resources they need to engage in the work. We’ve implemented several new opportunities to learn.

  • Ongoing I.D.E.A. Training PVTC has begun a series of ongoing trainings and conversations with our staff, board, interns, and students to help center I.D.E.A. topics at every level. Trainings include: anti-bias, anti-racism, anti-ableism, bystander intervention training, and allyship for creative processes.

  • Collaboration with Equity Consultants PVTC has allocated funds for specific collaborations with experts in a wide range of I.D.E.A. disciplines. They will help guide our thinking around curriculum building, show selection, color conscious casting, and accessible learning. So far, our partners include: Vinh Nguyen, Alegria Barclay, Gary Stanford Jr, and A.B.L.E. We are actively working to create and fund more partnerships.

  • Resource Packet To build a strong shared language across our staff, board, and interns, we’ve developed a living document with information on anti-bias, anti-racist, and anti-ableist practices. This is an ever-evolving guide that you can check out HERE.

  • Organizational Goals We’ve developed a set of actionable goals for capacity building. We strive towards a future in which every member of the PVTC community can articulate why Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility are core values. You can check them out HERE.
