VOLUNTEERING AT PVTC

PVTC welcomes the help of volunteers! No matter how much time you have to spare, we can use your energy and talents. If you have a desire to lend a hand with set construction, painting, stitching, ticket sales, house management, ushering, marketing, or fundraising, please email stacie@pvtc-ca.org so we can add you to our volunteer list!

Event Support

Support PVTC staff with event set up/clean up to create a great experience for our community!  This could include setting up chairs, food, prepping supplies, etc. You’ll be trained on how to answer questions and/or over see a project which may involve keeping a table stocked with supplies, etc. PVTC events are great fun for participants, staff, and volunteers alike!

BIRTHDAY CARDS

Assist PVTC staff create personalized cards for the PVTC community! You can sign up to volunteer as a single engagement or an ongoing opportunity.

STAGE PAINTING

In theatre the stage is constantly changing! We often need help painting the stage for each new event or production. Sometimes only a base layer of paint is needed and other times we get creative! Please wear closed toe shoes and clothes you can move in easily. Painting smocks & materials will be provided.

Requirements:

  • Adults and responsible middle school or high school students.

STORAGE MOVE

We’re moving from one storage unit to another and plan to do some clearing out of old pieces at the same time. Both units are within 2 miles of each other in Redwood City. Please wear closed toe shoes and clothes you can move in easily.

Requirements:

  • Requires some heavy lifting. 

  • Adults & high school students.

USHERING

Ushers greet patrons when they arrive for a performance, handout programs, and help audience members find their seats. If the show has an intermission, ushers may assist in the lobby with concessions.

Unless otherwise stated ushers are asked to wear white tops, black bottoms, and easy to move in shoes (no flip flops please).

HOSPITALITY

Help clean up dinner for staff and interns that are preparing for  summer camp performances. This will include storing extra food, general clean up, and breaking down tables/chairs.

SEATING RISER LOAD IN/OUT

Volunteers will help set up or breakdown seating platforms for a given production. Please wear closed toe shoes and clothes you can move in easily.

Requirements:

  • We’re looking for a few adults and responsible middle school or high school students.

  • There is heavy lifting involved, however, the platforms are much easier to move with four volunteers to a platform.
