Spring Workshop Series

Come discover new theater skills and techniques with PVTC teachers. These 1.5 hour workshops will be held in May and are open to all abilities and ages (students under the age of 12, please attend with an adult).

Stage Make Up: Bruises and Imperfections
Taught by Lindsay Saier
May 4th, 6:00-7:30

In this workshop, we will start by learning basic stage makeup tools and tricks. We will then use those tools to create realistic bruises and imperfections. Perfect for anyone curious about stage makeup and the process of creating wounds. No previous experience necessary.

Movement-Based Storytelling:
Taught by Siena McMahon
May 11th, 6:00-7:30

Spend an evening building a story through movement. Drawing on the teaching of Laban, we will work together to devise a short piece of choreography using a piece of text. Great for anyone who loves to move, wants to work on their physical character work, or is excited to play. No dance experience necessary, all abilities welcome.

Scene Painting: Stand Drawing Technique
Taught by Siena McMahon
May 18th, 6:00-7:30

Learn this unique technique used by scenic artists to create beautiful floor designs without breaking their backs. Using a stick, we will learn to draw on the floor while standing. In this hour-and-a-half-long workshop, we will create large-scale drawings and practice the stand technique with different mediums. Perfect for anyone interested in drawing/painting, or who just wants a quirky new skill. No artistic experience required :).
