Health & Safety Policy
While consistent attendance is key to a great rehearsal process, the health and safety of our community is our top priority.
When to Stay Home
Please notify Portola Valley Theatre Conservatory and stay home if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
Fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
Chills, muscle/body aches
Persistent, productive cough
Green or yellow nasal discharge
Wheezing/undiagnosed trouble breathing
Severe nausea
Vomiting/diarrhea
A positive test for a contagious illness (e.g., Flu, COVID-19, Strep)
Returning to PVTC
You may return to class, camp, and/or rehearsals when you have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication, any vomiting and/or diarrhea have subsided, your symptoms are improving, and you feel well enough to participate.
Managing Lingering Symptoms
Because participation in PVTC programs often involves close contact and singing, please consider wearing a mask indoors until your symptoms fully subside.
Mental Health & Well-Being
Your mental health is just as important to us as your physical health.
Communication with Parents/Guardians: If we are informed that a student under the age of 18 is navigating mental health challenges, PVTC’s policy is to contact their parent/ guardian. If a student is over the age of 18 but still participating in PVTC educational programming (for example, high school camp), our policy is to contact both the student and their emergency contact. Our goal is always to collaborate to support students while participating in PVTC programs.
Participation & Safety: We will make every effort to support a student’s ongoing participation in our programming through mental health challenges. However, PVTC reserves the right to ask a student to step back if, in conversation with parents/guardians, we determine we cannot adequately guarantee their safety or the safety of others.
