Calling all Theatre Artists!

YOU are invited to a Lighting Workshop the weekend of  December 4th & 5th at PVTC! Brought to you by popular request, Lighting Designer Chris Gregory is BACK for a weekend of design and training.

December 4th 10am-4pm High school students will focus on the design aspects of lighting. We’ll discuss Design elements, motivation, techniques, color, movement, and programming.

December 5th 10am-4pm Open to both high school & and middle school students, this workshop will focus on execution, going from design to reality! In this second session, we will learn how to hang and focus lights, talk about cabling, Digital Multiplex (DMX, a communication protocol), focusing lights, and some lighting console programming!

BOTH sessions will be directed towards students with ALL levels of experience, starting from the most frequently used skills, but also delving deeper into color theory, differing design tactics, and programing. Come prepared to design, to be the subject of designs, to learn, to light, and to have a whole lot of fun!

Please bring:

  • A sack lunch

  • A wrench if you have one

  • Arrive in closed toe shoes and clothes you can move around in easily
