STAGES Program at PVTC

STAGES is our intermediate track for performers who want to improve technical skills and receive open, honest feedback. We offer both an acting track and a dance for musical theatre track.

STAGES is open to students by audition (returning STAGES actors need not audition again). Auditions took place on August 27th, any students who missed auditions can contact our office for an alternative audition date. Learn more about the program below!

STAGES - ACTING

In this intermediate class, students will work closely with instructors to hone their innate skills as actors, as well as to stretch themselves to explore new acting frontiers. Through scene work, monologues, theatre games, and short scripts, students will have a chance to explore a variety of characters and topics throughout the year. This program is perfect for students who have demonstrated a passion for acting and are looking to improve their technical skills so they are ready for bigger performance challenges as they arise.

STAGES - DANCE FOR MUSICAL THEATRE

In this movement-based class, students will work on 2-3 songs each quarter to be performed at the end of the session. Students will receive coaching as actors, singers, and dancers and will apply the musical theatre techniques they learn to creating characters & telling stories through classic musical numbers. This class is ideal for performers wishing to gain in-depth technical instruction in musical theatre and who specifically want to improve on their dance technique and knowledge of musical theatre dance steps.
