PVTC congratulates Annabelle on recently being hired as a Costume Designer and Coordinator for our summer production of “Spongebob the Musical: Youth Edition”! Read along to see her journey from student to staff member.

Annabelle’s first PVTC experience was in the summer of 2012, right before she started 1st grade. Annabelle was cast as a frog/storyteller in “Once on This Island Jr.” She remembers fondly that during that summer, she got to make a paper mache frog mask and remembers thinking that the older campers and interns were the “coolest people in the world”. The following summer she landed her first big role as Baby Roo in “Seussical Jr.”. That summer she also found herself making friends with other campers who she still remains close with today. In these early years, she grew to love learning choreography and playing games, and she looked up to the leadership of PVTC as great role models. In the fourth grade, she even wrote a report about how she wanted to be just like Noëlle when she grows up!

In 2019, Annabelle had the opportunity to be an Intern for the first time. She was a rotation leader for the “Mushuettes” in “Mulan Jr.”, and remembers loving building relationships with her group and working with the younger kids, motivating them based on their individual interests. Since then, Annabelle has continued to intern, especially in the costume department, all while continuing to perform. Annabelle was last seen onstage at PVTC as Babette in “Beauty & The Beast” last summer and was elected as President of the PVTC Youth Council in October.

When asked about how she felt about her new opportunity as Costume Designer & Coordinator, she said “ I look forward to getting to lead a department and being able to take creative ideas and run with them. I’m excited to work with a team and lead them towards a great creative outcome for the show.”

Additionally, when asked about what has been the most special experience she’s had during her time at PVTC, she said “I loved seeing my brother join the program and being able to support him as he follows in my footsteps.”

Congrats Annabelle!
