There is a full-year commitment to these groups to maximize experiences in
theatre. Performance Ensembles meet weekly for an extended class time. We
will observe weeks off during Thanksgiving, the holiday season, Presidents’ Week,
Spring Break, and tech weeks at PVTC.
In addition to favorite theatre games, Performance Ensemble students learn new skills for taking their acting to the next level. Students will work in small groups to explore character development and scene setting each week, as well as rehearse larger projects throughout the year. This program is very student-driven, and we expect that professionalism and attendance is at its highest.
Each ensemble has the chance to perform several times throughout the year. Depending on the goals of each ensemble, we might stage a full-length play, a few one-acts, short scenes, excerpts from musicals, create our own work, or even plan a flash mob!
There will be a 24-hour musical extravaganza, where ensemble members will live at PVTC for 24 hours to fully mount a musical that will be performed at the end of the 24 hours.

Students who are offered a place in one of these ensembles must meet minimum criteria as established by the PVTC artistic staff.
