PVTC recognizes that traditional theatres practices are often ableist. We are committed to revamping programs in order to be more inclusive for participants and community members with disabilities or other access needs.

• Access Previews For every upcoming show at PVTC, we’re excited to offer Access Previews. These performances include accommodations for audience members with disabilities and other sensory needs.

• ASL Classes PVTC has expanded course offerings to highlight accessible theatre practices. In spring 2022, this includes two classes in ASL interpretation for high schoolers and adults.

• Willow Commons PVTC began a partnership with Willow Commons, a new residential community for adults with cognitive disabilities. Willow Commons residents join PVTC staff and interns for hands-on training in arts education and administration.

• Development of Access Guidelines As we return to in-person rehearsals and performances, PVTC is committed to implementing a wider range of access accommodations. To this effect, we’re developing access guidelines to better serve community members with a range of disabilities.
