ABOUT THE CLASS

This class is perfect for any student who wants to get up on their feet, move to the music, and do a little singing. We will learn about musical theatre styles & practice building character through song as well as master basic musical theatre dance steps.

About 

Noëlle Gibbs (Tuesday class)

Noëlle (she/her) has worn a variety of hats at PVTC over the past ten years, including Children’s Conservatory Director and Associate Artistic Director. Noëlle is a proud graduate of PVTC, having taken the first-ever intro to acting course offered by her mom in 1994. Credits at PVTC include Persephone, Distracted, Oklahoma!, The Servant of Two Masters, Proof, The Wizard of Oz, The Lion King, Jr., Shrek Jr., Guys and Dolls Jr., Seussical Jr., Once on This Island Jr., The Music Man Jr., and Cinderella, Jr.

Noëlle received B.A.’s in Theatre & Dance from UC San Diego after completing an honors thesis project in which she spent six months visiting Greece, England, and Italy to study Greek masks, Shakespeare, and Commedia Dell’Arte. As a result, most of her work focuses on collaboration, ensemble-building, and liberating the creative individual. In addition, Noëlle has worked in the artistic and educational departments at top-ranking regional theatres, including TheatreWorks in Palo Alto, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, CT, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and the Magic Theatre in San Francisco. She is also a freelance director who is working with Dragon Theatre and City Lights Theatre Company in the 2016 season. She was the recipient of Theatre Bay Area’s’ ATLAS Award in Directing in 2014.

Hilary Stevens (Wednesday class)

Hilary (she/her)comes to California from Salisbury, Connecticut and is excited to be back at PVTC. A graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory/University, she holds a B.F.A in Theatre for Youth with a minor in Voice. Hilary has worked with various theatres in the Bay Area as an actress and director along with Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, Florida where she was head Director/Instructor/Actress, Indian River Community College in Ft. Pierce, Florida as Theatre for Youth Director, and has toured to various locations across the United States. She has directed and performed in over 100 productions. Favorite performance credits include: Damn Yankees (Gloria), Man of La Mancha (Aldonza), The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy). Favorite directing credits include: Jane Eyre, Dragon of The Winds, Willy Wonka, 101 Dalmatians, Heidi, Bridge to Terabithia, A Thousand Cranes, The Witches, Deathtrap and The Mousetrap.

Jess Bennett (Thursday class)

Jess (she/her) was born and raised in the Bay Area. Jess got bitten by the acting bug in middle school, after making her stage debut as Lady Capulet in Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. After graduating from college, she moved to NYC to attend acting school at the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse. Some favorite acting roles include Ilona in She Loves Me, Patty Simcox in GREASE and Olivia in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. She is celebrating five years as a teaching artist with PVTC! In that time, she has directed, choreographed and coached many student shows, from Seussical to James and the Giant Peach (on Zoom)! Jess loves teaching the next generation of theatre-makers, and is excited to co-direct A Midsummer Night's Dream at Corte Madera School!

Refund Policies 

1) TUITION: For our four-week, three-week, and two-week long camps, you have the option of processing your camp tuition in full, or by installments. Final payments are due at the start of the camp session. A first payment of $250 is required at the time of registration. For classes payment is due at the time of registration. Students who have not paid by the first class will not be admitted into the classroom. Tuition can be processed by credit card, check, or cash.

2) REFUNDS:

$25 is non-refundable for after school class tuition. There are no refunds after the first day of class. Please see summer camp pages for detailed information about our summer 2021 camp refund policy.

3) LATE REGISTRATION: If you would like to register after the first day of a class, you may do so up until the second class meeting. After the second class meeting, we may not be able add additional students as the script has already been developed, casting has taken place, etc. We do not pro-rate classes that are added late.

4) TRIAL CLASS: We understand that some of our younger artists may be hesitant about trying a theatre class. If you have a young student and wish to test a class, please feel free to call the theatre office at (650) 530-2428 to make arrangements for a trial class before formally registering online.

​5) SCHOLARSHIPS: PVTC offers a limited amount of need-based scholarships for our after school classes and camps. Families can apply for a scholarship HERE. Questions? Please email ​info@pvtc-ca.org​ for more information.
