A Note about Costumes

Especially for end-of-quarter performances, we keep production sets and costumes very simple. Our hope is that most of the items we ask families to provide are already in their closets. If not, please feel free to ask for assistance from us, or peruse the websites provided below, all of which offer basic colored shirts and pants.

Most times, we ask for the very minimum from you, so if you’d like to add detail, please feel free! If you’re looking to add small creative details, try Joann Fabrics or Michaels for embellishing options. Scroll down for great ideas from past productions!

www.target.com

Target has short and long sleeved t’s, basic pants and button-up collared shirts in many colors.

www.landsend.com

Landsend is a little more pricey, but also has short and long-sleeved shirts, turtlenecks, and a variety of plain colored pants.

www.oldnavy.com

Old Navy also has many basics, long and short sleeved t’s, and basic colored pants and shorts.

If you plan to shop in person, try Target and Old Navy, and also Savers in Redwood City.

Great Embellishments from past shows:

Sometimes a well placed detail makes all the difference. Check out these creative ideas!

Rumplestiltskin: Rainbow outfit with as many patterns and colors as possible.
Moon: Sparkly cape and moon-shape cut from cardboard to fit around face.
Islanders: Old Clothing rubbed with dirt and distressed around edges.
Twins: Performers coordinated outfits to look similar.
