Answers to all your Summer Camp Questions

1. Why does registration begin so early?
Because we know that summertime often involves vacations and traveling for our families, we want to be as helpful with information as we can so that travel plans can happen smoothly.

2. When is PVTC’s 2008 Summer Camp?
Our Mainstage Summer Camp is June 23 –July 18, Monday – Friday. Camp begins at 9:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm. There is no childcare provided before or after. There is no camp on Friday, July 4 and a half-day on Friday, July 18. Performances are at 7:00pm on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 and at 2:oopm on Sunday, July 20.

3. What ages of children can participate in the 2008 camp?
Our Mainstage Summer Camp is offered to students entering grades 1 – 8 in the 2008/09 schoolyear. Students will have opportunities to engage in age-specific activities, as well as team-building group activities for the entire cast.

4. What do we need to do to register?
Download this pre-registration form and send it along with a non-refundable $100 per student deposit to:
PVTC
Attn: Emily Greco
945 Portola Road
Portola Valley, CA 94028

5. Why is a non-refundable deposit required?
Because our camp offers a limited number of spaces, we feel that we best serve interested parties by having a clear and fixed knowledge of whether we can accommodate their student at the time of inquiry. Particularly due to our understanding that families are often unable to remain on a waitlist while other camp opportunities present themselves, we ask that families commit these camp dates to their schedules so that surprise openings the week before camp are kept to a minimum.

6. How much does 2008 summer camp cost?
Our 2008 Mainstage Summer Camp is $600.00 per student. The non-refundable $100.00 deposit is applied toward the total cost for camp. The remaining balance may be paid in on the first day of camp or any time prior.

7. Should participants have previous performance experience?
PVTC recognizes that an important part of becoming our best selves to to be challenged and to try new things! Because of this, we invite children of all experiences and skill-levels to join us.

8. What does this camp include?
Our Mainstage Summer Camp is our biggest show of the year for our students. In the course of camp every student will have a chance to experience acting, singing and dancing (of course!) as well as skill-building games, improvisation, artwork, costuming, set construction and fun in the sun!

9. Why is the camp located at a church?
PVTC is fortunate to have access to the theater facility that belongs to Valley Presbyterian Church. Along with other large rooms and facilities, PVTC is able to offer diverse and meaningful theatrical experiences due to the generosity of the church. Some of the other non-church related activities
that happen on campus are Boy Scouts, music classes, yoga and more!
